My Beloved Brother, Anna
Whenever I think of Anna, I see him as an eternal achiever brilliant, selfless, and revolutionary, much like Acharya Ramanuja. His life was dedicated to educating and uplifting everyone, no matter their age or background.
Childhood Memories
Anna was a dynamic personality, excelling in sports and academics. He inspired awe with his swimming skills and had an infectious enthusiasm for life, despite Ayya's strict discipline. His closest friends, Raju Anna and Mysore Raghavan, shared a bond of deep trust and affection with him, a rare friendship that left a lasting impression.
A Scholar and Guide
Anna grew into a handsome and accomplished scholar, earning a gold medal and mastering the Divya Prabandham. His devotion to Goddess Andal guided his life choices, including his marriage to Goda.
He encouraged me to pursue education and philosophy, sparking my interest in discussions on Buddha's Nirvana and Charvaka philosophy. Despite his demanding work schedule at Bangalore University, he would find time, even at odd hours, to teach me with unwavering dedication.
A Pillar of Strength
When I faced challenges after marriage, my beloved Amma was extremely tense. Anna became a godfather to me and my children Pavan and Sripriya. He raised them with love and care alongside his own son Ananth, instilling in them knowledge and values. My Madni, shared his selfless affection, creating a nurturing home that became a cornerstone of my life. My mother, other brothers and sisters also lent additional and emotional support to me during those difficult days of my children's growth and education.
Anna's Mission
Anna's life was driven by a higher purpose: spreading Ramanuja's Vishishtadvaita philosophy. He believed in self-governance, introspection, and spiritual growth as the path to realizing our potential. He often reminded us that chasing happiness outside is like chasing a mirage; true fulfilment lies in inner transformation.
An Irreplaceable Loss
Anna was like a great banyan tree, offering wisdom and shelter to all. His passing feels like an act of fate too cruel to comprehend, but his teachings and love continue to inspire us, forming an eternal legacy in our hearts.
